Who Said This Wouldn't Hurt A Bit?

Caitlin thinks it's bad enough she got dragged to the doctor’s office to get a dumb ol’ shot, but this waiting room is the pits. The chairs are hard to stretch out on, and everywhere you look, nothing but beige, beige, beige. Not even a single Highlights in sight. She’s already eaten both parenting magazines, along with a stack of brochures that had pictures of rhinos on them and some words about a virus. There are no toys to be found - not even one of those wiry things with the loop-the-loops and the tasty little wooden beads.

After playing about ninety-nine rounds of rock/paper/scissors with her dad, Caitlin decides she has really had enough. There’d better be a pretty impressive sticker waiting for her after this. And a big fat meat sandwich, too.

OK, maybe I should know this, but is Caitlin yours?

PJ - Hmm...we've had interesting pets, but no lions! I probably should clarify that sometimes I like to make up goofy stories to go with photos.

The cub (real name Nala) was rescued from a circus and fostered by a friend of my brother-in-law, who sent us the pic. (Those are his hands she's chomping on.)

LOL! You had me going. I was really jealous because I've always wanted a lion. And a monkey. A lion and a monkey and maybe even a giant tortoise that is so big that I can ride it to the grocery store.

Cute! ;0)

LMHO because I saw this post before anyone had commented and I too, wasn't sure if Caitlyn was a child or the lion. I kind of figured it was a child, but the comment about her eating the parent magazines threw me off. Great picture, BTW. I have one of Rick holding a baby tiger.

Hope the shot wasn't too bad!

Suzie - You are too funny!

Christy - Me too! Well, I do have a tortoise that is almost big enough to ride!

Linda - Absolutely!

Louise - I am jealous that my brother-in-law got to play with it and all I got was a picture!

Rena - LOL...I promise next time I do this I'm going to post a warning that it's fiction!

That's so cool about the baby tiger - my dream is to pet a cheetah - I came within inches once, but the handler had just decided the cheetah needed a break.

Great little story...I've always wanted to pet a small kitty like this...after seeing this pic...I think I'll wear real thick gloves...grin...

And I was sooo hoping you were going to have some adventure to tell us about where you became the proud parent of a lioness - darn.

But cute little story to go with the pic. I've spent enough hours in vet offices to know about this.

We've owned hedgehogs, iguanas, horses, cats, dogs, walking sticks, the list could go on and on.

She's so cute! Thanks for sharing! I always ask DH if we can get a lion or tiger cub, but sadly, he always says no. That's probably a good thing, anyway, since our cat would not like that. ;)

p.s. I do ask hubby this once in a while, but he knows I'm not serious.
