Wishful Thinking

The idea for this illustration came to me while standing in line outside the career center. The sun was coming up (told ya the line forms early for free classes), and our long shadows stretched out across the adjacent landscaping.

Love it. Oh it's beautiful. Not just the dress but the crown. She's an amazing princess.

Write the story for this one, if you haven't already. And then send it out.

In your spare time, of course.

It's magical.

Okay, Adrienne~I'm going to bug you about it again: Are you going to this year's SCBWI summer conference in L.A.? You really need to be there and enter your portfolio in the competition. Your work is *that* good! I really think you have a shot at winning. I know the money's hard to come by, but if there's any familial resource to be tapped, I think it'd be worth it. Anyway, beautiful! Again!!! : )

Thanks everyone! I guess this one's a little different...it's probably the state of mind I'm in. :)

ICQB - I like that idea! I think there is a story there - I have other sketches in mind, and I'd love to weave a story around them.

Green Girl - I'm flattered! And, I hadn't thought of it...I'll get back to you! :)

Ara - It's okay, keep bugging me...
It's not likely I'll be attending a conference any time soon, but I've learned things can change awfully fast - so who knows?

Oh, yes. I've got a story already brewing in my head from your illustration. The Flower Girl.

OMGoodness, it's absolutely lovely. What wonderful details. I'm so jealous of your talents.

That really is lovely - and a clever idea. What's sweet is that the little girl looks so wistful, longing to be something better than she is, but she's fine just the way she is!

I am SO glad you are still getting ideas while in the stifling "career center" environment.

Yes, you have to write a story for her. She's wonderful.
