A Small, Small World

My daughter's world history class was assigned to watch this video over the Thanksgiving break. I think it's a good way to keep things in perspective this season.

More information about the Miniature Earth project can be found on their website here.

I have read that break down before. Putting it into a little film makes it more immediate.

That's an eye opening way of looking at things. That was a great assignment.

Talk about perspective. I am so wealthy in SO many areas.

What a wonderful way to keep it all in perspective.
I hope your family had a great holiday.

I remember when this came out years ago.
My daughter who I think was 13 at the time sent it to everyone she knew…
She handed it to teachers, posted it on bulletin boards, and sent out emails…
I am happy to hear that it was giving as a class assignment.
We do need to stop and think…

Bish - I've heard the statistics too - but I agree, it has more of an impact presented this way.

ICQB - It was a great assignment...I'm glad my daughter shared it with us.

Green Girl - We are, and sometimes it helps to have a reminder of how fortunate we are.

Debbie - Thanks! I hope you enjoyed the holiday, too.

Louise - Good for your daughter to pass it along.
According to the website, they've updated the figures. I'm curious to read the original report.

What a great video. It's a lesson everybody--especially people in wealthy countries like ours-needs to hear. Thank you for sharing it!
