LOL! I love your posts.

I like the word "fortuitous" because it sounds smart. . . plus, within the same week that I learned it, I heard it used in a phrase on Scooby Doo. The dialogue used it as, "A fortuitious coink-y-dink" . . . which was funny. Smart and funny is my all time fave combination! So . . .

Dither. I like it too.
And Scrumptious, Brilliant, Wicked, Dojo and Dingleberry.

Kim - I especially like gooey when it comes before dessert. :)

PJ - I'm an exclamation markaholic!!! I really do not exclaim that much in real life.

Christy - That's a great line! I love those funny juxtapositions.

Green Girl - Dingleberry is a funny word. :-D

Becky - Gobsmacked has to be one of my favorites, even though I never think to use it (and I get gobsmacked often enough).

E - Concoction is a great one, especially when it's frozen :)

Shelli - I agree with moist - there's something icky about it. :p

Bish - There are so many of those words that would be hard to guess the pronunciation - paradigm is one that used to throw me.

ICQB - You have me wondering about the subtle differences between squishy and squashy... :D

Great list! And now I must look up Pulchritudinous!
I say the words baby, whatever, and what too much.

I'm a fan of 'bamboozle' and 'gooey' too, and 'brouhaha' is a firm favorite. I'm also crazy about 'emerald', 'aquamarine', 'scarlet', 'aubergine', and 'quagmire'.

The word 'fab' makes me cringe, as do 'hubby', 'do' (for 'hairdo'), 'barbie' for 'barbecue' and on and on. As a general rule, I don't do abbreviations.

I over use actually, apparently and awesome (in my blog at least).

Great post.

Words I love…… Juxtaposition and gewgaw

Word I despise …………obvious
It is the way people use this word to belittle others that gets me.

Word that was in your post that brought back wonderful memories … rigmarole.
This was one of my dad’s favorite
words.

Great list, Adrienne! My favorite lately is *delicious*. I don't say it aloud so much, but in writing? I've got to come up with some synonyms!

Thanks for adding me to your sidebar! I just saw it. That's so sweet of you! : )

Kelly - One of my favorite lines is from Dumbo, when the ringmaster introduces the "pulchritudinous pachyderms".

Mary - I'm not crazy about abbreviations, either - or anything that sounds buzzwordy.

K - Me, too - and I should add 'interesting' and 'totally' to my list.

Suzie - That seems like one of those words that sounds funny when you say it over and over.

Louise - Some of my favorites are ones I remember from childhood. I think my mom was the only person I heard using 'decorous'...probably why I like it.

Anne - Okay, lol about lol! Sorry. It bugs me too, but sometimes I just give in...
I love that your daughter has an ongoing list.

Ara - So you discovered my appetizing sidebar of flavorful blogs! And now I'm wondering what you're writing about that's so delicious. :)

Debbie - You should! I'd love to see what's on your list.
